Backgrounds and Color Keys

Hi everyone,
after weeks and weeks of coding, i'm glad to finally announce that i've updated my website-
http://www.segun-animation.com/ I have new life drawings in the gallery; I changed the layout of the site a little as well.

Here is some art from my abandoned ninja project. Initially I wasn't going to release any art from it to the public, but i guess i've changed my mind. I completed most of the animation on it, but i wan't pleased with the character design or the animation for that matter. Hence the scrapping of the project. There is a little glimpse of the ninja animation on my demoreel.

Establishing shot, vertical pan, medium: photoshop.

The layout was drawn on paper, scanned and painted in photoshop. This was a multiplane shot, consisting of 5 different layers; composited in AfterEffects using AfterEffects 3d. I'll post a video of the shot soon.

horizontal pan, interior shot, medium: photoshop

The next shot is an interior shot of the temple. I love multiplane shots, i try to put in overlays and underlays whenever possible. I animated the pan in Flash. I prefer doing camera work in AfterEffects though.

Interior shot, medium: photoshop.

This shot is a relatively simple 1 point perspective shot. I was going for somber lighting. The character is in this shot as well as the preceeding shot.

Lastly, the color keys for the first sequence of the short:

Nothing fancy, i didn't go crazy with the lighting. I just wanted simple natural lights for the exteriors, and flame lights for the interior.
